The Earth System Predictability Research and Development Strategic Framework and Roadmap was recently released by the National Science Technology Panel’s Fast Track Action Committee on Earth System Predictability Research and Development. This framework was developed in response to the memorandum, “Fiscal Year 2021 Administration Research and Development Budget Priorities,” which directed Departments and Agencies to prioritize R&D in the area of Earth system predictability, with an awareness of its importance to society.
