Ocean Acidification Hotspots in Fisheries Management Workshop
About the Workshop
Ocean Science Trust is currently working on a project in partnership with Ocean Protection Council to provide relevant information to decision-makers on OA ‘hotspots’ along the California coast and potential impacts to species and ecosystems. More information on this project, including a 2-page overview (attached), can be found here.
As part of this effort, OST will convene a workshop to bring together decision-makers, scientists, and other partners to
Discuss the concept of and work to define OA ‘hotspot’ and how each definition may have utility in a fisheries management decision context
Synthesize the state of the science supporting each definition, including highlighting key gaps, and
Collate existing data that can be used to understand, apply and map hotspots, according to the different definitions for living marine resource management
