WCOFS Webinar

On Feb 8, 2017, SCCOOS hosted one-day webinar and open discussion of West Coast ocean modeling and the West Coast Ocean Forecast System (WCOFS) Phase 2, which will incorporate biogeochemistry.  We will look broadly at west coast ocean modeling activities planned and underway, e.g. the West Coast Coastal Ocean Modeling Testbed. The virtual meeting included activity updates, discussion of physical and biogeochemical modeling, assimilation techniques, and discussion of coordination, paths forward, and the NOAA vision/ modeling context.

The audience involved in these efforts include researchers and investigators involved in modeling and modeling-related oceanographic research on the West Coast, individuals engaged in modeling-relevant IOOS activities, program managers guiding and supporting West Coast modeling, and some representatives of West Coast user groups.
